Dave Diaz
David Díaz is a Cuban-American freelance multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and music educator in the Southern California area. He began music at the of age 5 with the guitar through his father (David Diaz-Gonzales) who was a modernist painter from Cuba and a Nueva Trova guitarist.
He began to study the clarinet with the late Kalman Bloch of the L.A. Phil and later the saxophone with Gary Gray where he graduated in music from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After his studies at UCLA, he joined the U.S Air Force Band of the West where he performed around the world.
To his credit, he has performed with the following artists: Bill Watrous, Sammy Nestico, Eddie Palmieri, Kenny Burrell, Hubert Laws, Rene Fleming, Boston Brass, and many others.

Academic Foundation
Dave holds a Master of Music (M.M.) in Clarinet Performance from the prestigious UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. This high-level academic training is the backbone of his technical precision and his deep understanding of music theory and arrangement. His education at UCLA allowed him to study under world-renowned woodwind masters, shaping him into the professional he is today.
